Stephen is a dedicated practicum student on a mission to empower individuals to find healing and strength within themselves. Based in Vancouver, he is on the journey to complete his practicum hours to become a fully designated Registered Clinical Counsellor. His personal and professional passion lies in the profound connection between nature, relationships, and our well-being, which drives his approach to counselling.

Before diving into the world of counselling, Stephen has had a career as a teacher at an alternative secondary school, giving him invaluable insights into the challenges that youth face today. Stephen is passionate about supporting both youth and adults facing the unique challenges that life can bring. Whether you are grappling with anxiety, navigating depression, or processing the complexities of loss and grief, Stephen’s role is to walk alongside you on your path to healing and self-empowerment.

Stephen’s approach to counselling is rooted in a client-centered, holistic perspective. He sees his role as providing a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to explore their inner-healer and embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Stephen’s nature-based philosophy informs every aspect of his practice, with the firm belief that connection to the natural world and to one another deeply influences well-being.

Beyond counselling, Stephen relishes in outdoor adventures, including rock climbing and foraging. He is always on the lookout for wild ingredients that connect him to the land and nourish both body and soul. These adventures foster Stephen’s strong connection to nature and teaches the importance of relationships, both with nature and with the people in our lives.

Stephen is keen on supporting you in navigating life’s challenges, nurturing your connections, and helping you harness your own inner healing potential.

Stephen’s clinical work will be supervised by Megan McLaren MCP, RCC. This means that Megan might be present for an appointment or two, and that Stephen will be discussing individual cases with Megan. This is to ensure best-practices and to support Stephen’s clinical development. As such, Stephen may ask to record sessions with audio or video. Please know that it is your right to give or deny consent about recording, and your choice does not affect whether you get to work with Stephen. You may also change your mind at any time in the counselling process.
