Deeply connected to understanding the root of trauma, and with an undeniable curiosity of the human psyche, Lindsay has completed multiple degrees and obtained numerous certifications relating to the field of human energetics and psychology.
Since 2005 Lindsay has worked in a variety of settings, including youth detox and support recovery, adult supported recovery, mandated residential treatment, inpatient and outpatient program with BCCH’s Oncology program, and after completing her Master of Social Work in 2011, as a concurrent clinical counsellor in the eastside of Vancouver. A large portion of her work has focused on supporting youth and young adults struggling with the complex interaction between substance use and other mental health challenges, often compounded by the additional burdens of homelessness, racism, sexism, classism, ablemism, transphobia and homophobia.
In 2017 a series of events levelled Lindsay’s life to the ground through the compounded loss of her marriage, her grandmother, a dear friend and a client. In the aftermath of this demolition Lindsay was forced to go inward and tend to the parts of herself who had long been abandoned, finding solace in the embodied practices of yoga and meditation, and coming to understand that our bodies hold much more than our minds would have us believe.
Continuing on her life path of providing guidance and support for those who have lost their connection to self and to community, Lindsay completed the Certificate in Psychedelic Assisted Therapies and Research at CIIS in 2020. Along with the completion of this certificate, Lindsay has also completed the MAPS MDMA for PTSD training program, the ATMA Introduction to Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy, Phoenix Academy’s Psychedelic Integration Retreat, has participated in ATMA’s first clinical trial using psilocybin for training therapists, and continues to explore and expand her understanding of energy and the wider cosmology of the world through ongoing training in Somatic Experiencing, Reiki and Andean Shamanism. Her intention is to combine her experience in plant medicine preparation and integration support with her experience as a clinical counsellor, walking alongside clients as they find healing by coming home to their essential selves.
